The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) has set 10 Dzulhijjah 1443 or Eid al-Adha to fall on Saturday (9/7/22).
University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) has prepared 4,000 canned meats for the Eid al-Adha celebration.
M Febrianto as the Takmir of the UM Surabaya Mosque said that this year UM Surabaya through the Lazismu service office UM Surabaya has prepared 4000 processed rendang meat in the form of cans.
"This is done to prevent an outbreak of Foot Mouth Disease (FMD) which infects cattle and goats," explained Rian.
According to his statement, this year he raised funds through the Lazismu service office in the East Java region.
"From Lazismu East Java, it is then processed into rendang meat in cans," he explained again.
Furthermore, Rian explained that this canned meat product is planned to be distributed to all underprivileged residents in East Java. Each resident gets 2 cans of packaged qurban animal meat weighing 220 grams/can.
According to him again, packaged canned meat products from sacrificial animals have actually been carried out since the last two years during the pandemic. He emphasized that the benefits of processing meat into rendang can actually be consumed for up to 2 years. This has been proven during the distribution of food for victims of the Semeru and earthquake disasters in Malang.
“There are around 4,000 canned meats. There are 2 flavors of rendang and corned beef which are planned to be distributed to the public," he concluded.
