UM Surabaya Enters the Top 7 PTS in Indonesia with the Most PKM Funding

University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) managed to rank 7th as a Private Higher Education (PTS) with the most proposal funding in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). In 2022, UM Surabaya has succeeded in passing eleven proposals which has increased more than the previous year.

Launching from the official website simbelmawa.kemendikbud, UM Surabaya managed to rank 1st in PTS in Surabaya. Rank 3 PTS and PTN in Surabaya. Ranked 5th PTM in Indonesia. Rank 6 PTS and PTN in East Java and Rank 7 PTS in Indonesia.

Ma'ruf Sya'ban, vice chancellor three in charge of innovation, human resources, student affairs and alumni said that the proposals that passed included Community Service PKM (PM), PKM-K Entrepreneurship, PKMRE and PKMRSH.

Ma'ruf explained that UM Surabaya had carried out several stages so that it successfully passed the proposal selection. He also explained that UM Surabaya had formed an internal reviewer team which was escorted directly by the Innovation and Alumni Student Administration Bureau (BAKAI) which involved lecturers to select student proposals, this was intended so that the proposals sent were appropriate and not random.

"We continue to socialize about this PKM to students. Then students will continue sharing ideas with lecturers and before publishing they must enter the internal reviewer team first," said Ma'ruf, Saturday (28/5/22)

In a written statement, Ma'ruf really appreciates the performance of all students, supervisors so that they can pass to this stage.

"UM Surabaya in the future will continue to improve performance. We will continue to work hard again so that next year there will be even more achievements and funding. We can't be satisfied quickly," Ma'ruf explained again.

Ma'ruf also hopes that the proposals that pass will not only have an impact on students or universities. But it has a big impact on society.

"In addition to creative and innovative ideas the Student Creativity Program (PKM) must be able to help the community, must be able to provide increased intelligence, skills and community knowledge, community group skills training and development," he concluded.
