UM Surabaya Opens New Student Registration Using UTBK Scores, No Need for Tests Again

Announcement of the results of the National Selection Computer-Based Writing Examination Based on the 2023 UTBK SNBT Test will officially be announced on Tuesday, June 20 at 15.00 WIB by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT). Apart from the announcement of passing the selection, participants can also see the 2023 UTBK score.

For applicants who register and are declared not passed, prospective students need not worry. The reason is that UM Surabaya provides the opportunity to use Computer Based Writing Examination (UTBK) scores as entry requirements.

Ma'ruf Sya'ban, Deputy Chancellor III in charge of student innovation and human resources affairs explained that the entrance exam policy using UTBK scores at UM Surabaya had been running for the last five years. This is done as an effort to facilitate the registrants in the registration process.

"The UTBK test is of course very accurate and credible so it is appropriate to measure the initial abilities of prospective students. There are around 29 majors at UM Surabaya that can be accessed through the UTBK route," explained Ma'ruf through a written statement. Tuesday (20/6/23)

Ma'ruf said that the selection to enter the UTBK route could not be used for 2 faculties at UM Surabaya, namely the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG)

Meanwhile, Radius Setiyawan, Head of the Information Institute and New Student Admissions (LIPMB) explained in detail the provisions for the UTBK pathway. The technical flow of registration is not much different from the regular route, the difference is that applicants for the UTBK route are exempt from the written exam if their UTBK score is in accordance with predetermined standards.

"Registrants can use the UTBK scores for the last two years, 2022 and 2023. After registering online, applicants submit a UTBK score certificate, if declared passed, applicants can immediately take part in a series of further tests." Radius explained.

Radius also explained that special registration for the UTBK pathway was open until August 31.

"Registration for the special UTBK pathway will be closed at the same time as the closing of registration for batch 3," he said.

Meanwhile, the fee for the Surabaya UM form is 350,000. For complete information, registrants can access the official website um-surabaya.ac.id and can consult at number 085852446337 (WA/Telephone).
