Increasing Job Opportunities for Graduates, UM Surabaya Presses MoU with East Java Manpower and Transmigration Office

As an effort to increase job opportunities for graduates, Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (UM Surabaya) conducted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Office of Manpower and Transmigration of the East Java Provincial Government in the Disnakertrans insight room on Tuesday (31/5/22)

The Chancellor of UM Surabaya Sukadiono explained that this effort was carried out with the aim of increasing and fostering institutional partnership relations in carrying out alumni development activities, alumni training, providing information on job vacancies as well as career and entrepreneurial consultations.

"With the help of the Manpower and Transmigration Office, alumni coaching and training activities will be easier. In this case alumni will be equipped with digital world skills and learn directly to work on projects from clients with the guidance of mentors," explained Suko.

Not only that, according to him, the Manpower and Transmigration Office as a second party will also facilitate job vacancy information services both domestically and abroad and work with company partners to find the potential they are looking for directly.

"As a disability-friendly campus, disability service activities will also be carried out to facilitate job seekers with disabilities to get broad access and opportunities so they can get a decent job," he added.

Suko also hopes that this will be done by the university as an effort to overcome one of the problems in Indonesia, namely unemployment.

"Apart from increasing the capacity and opportunities for graduates, the hope is that this can be one thing that can reduce the unemployment rate in Indonesia," he concluded.
