In order to support the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program, the Ministry of Education and Culture launched the International Credit Transfer (ICT) program which is intended for students at all tertiary institutions in Indonesia. On this occasion, ten students from the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) successfully passed and had the opportunity to interact and learn from ecotourism to halal food in Taiwan.(30/12/21)
The names of students who passed the ICT Asia University Taiwan program are Sudarmi Mauboi (PG PAUD Study Program), Nurul Afifah (PG PAUD), Qanita Maulana Fitri (English Study Program), Ahmad Vawaid Sulthon (English Study Program), Anisa Dewi (Accounting Study Program) , Danisa Nanda Pratiwi (Sharia Banking), Prasista Maolana (Legal Study Program) and Miftakhul Jannah (Architecture Study Program) while Stefiany Agung Purwonegoro (Management Study Program), Dimas Sholahudin Khais (Shipping Engineering Study Program). passed the Universiti Teknologi Petronas Malaysia program.
Head of the UM Surabaya Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (KUIK) Pramudana Ihsan explained that in order to qualify for the ICT program students must go through a fairly rigorous selection process.
“This ICT program can be joined starting from Undergraduate (S1) and Postgraduate (S2) level students who are Indonesian citizens and are actively registered at tertiary institutions. Have a minimum TOEFL score of 450 or IELTS of at least 5.00 or a certificate of proficiency in English and other equivalent foreign languages," said Pram
In a written statement, Pram also added that the ICT program was carried out online and students who passed were given full costs.
"Fortunately the students who pass are fully funded, starting from educational support costs, living expenses, education costs in the form of registration fees, costs for printing certificates, academic transcripts, library fees to buying books or accessing journals. I am sure that the program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture will improve hard skills and soft skills as well as expand international networks and cooperation. Pram added.
Meanwhile Danisa Nanda, who took the credit transfer Ecotourism, Business and Social Ethics, and Investment and Asset Pricing courses, expressed her joy at being able to take part in the ecotourism course which is linked to halal food.
"This is very interesting for me because of the lack of Muslims in Taiwan, but in fact this country has become a destination object for Muslim immigrants to carry out studies. After attending lectures I know that the country of Taiwan provides a friendly environment for immigrants, especially Muslims. Not only that, this country is also concentrating in terms of the tourism sector which involves business people in meeting the needs of Muslim tourism," said Danisa.
Nurul Afifah, a student who passed the ICT program, also expressed her joy at being able to pass a fairly prestigious program and study at Asia University Taiwan.
"I learned many interesting things, one of which is the Family Centered Children's Welfare Service in Taiwan. I virtually visited child protection and care institutions in Taiwan through access to the websites of care institutions. I also had the opportunity to witness a children's festival held in the city of Taichung, Taiwan to find out about the welfare of the children there," said Afifah in a written statement.
