Winning Gold Again, Pradeva Wins the 2021 Banda Aceh Rock Climbing National Championship

Pradeva Adelia, UM Surabaya Athlete made another achievement. After previously at the XX PON Papua event managed to bring home a bronze medal for East Java, now Pradeva has won a gold and bronze medal at the National Rock Climbing Championship event which will be held on 17-25 November 2021.

Held at the FPTI Aceh Wall Climbing Venue, Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Lhong Raya, Banda Aceh. This National Championship was attended by 26 provinces throughout Indonesia, with a total of 216 athletes consisting of 127 male athletes and 89 female athletes competing in five groups with 28 medals up for grabs.

Pradeva Adelia who is a student of FEB UM Surabaya who won a gold medal in the female lead junior category and won a bronze medal in the female combined junior category. With the medal won by Pradeva, East Java this year once again maintained the overall champion in this prestigious event.

Hearing the achievements of UM Surabaya athletes, Junaidy Ferry Efendi as the Head of the Student Affairs and Innovation Bureau (BAKAI) expressed his appreciation for Pradeva. According to Junaidy, since the beginning he entered UM Surabaya Pradeva and has continued to show his achievements. As a national athlete, Pradeva continues to make achievements in the sport of rock climbing that he is involved in.

“Pradeva really deserves to get a medal in this National Championship. He is a UM Surabaya athlete who is very diligent in training, his ability is not in doubt after the medal he won in PON last October. Therefore, I keep reminding him to keep up the spirit of training and not to be easily satisfied with the achievements he has achieved now. In the future there are many championships that need to be prepared," said Junaidy.

When interviewed, Pradeva explained his efforts in getting this gold and bronze medal. The training that continues to be carried out every day is a form of his commitment as a national athlete to keep trying to improve the skills he has.

After participating in PON in Papua, I took part in the Regional Championship and Alhamdulillah managed to get 1 gold and 1 silver on November 6-10 2021. Only about 1 week left to prepare for this National Championship. I believe that my current achievements are due to the training efforts that I do every day," said Pradeva.
