Rahmad Adi Mulyono, an athlete scholarship at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) won a bronze medal in the speed number in the 2022 Rock Climbing World Cup series which was held at Jungnang Sport Climbing Stadium, Seoul South Korea on Friday (6/5/22)
Rahmad Adi, a UM Surabaya student who represented Indonesia, managed to beat Ludovico Fossali from Italy in the bronze medal match with a record time of 5.58 seconds.
In a written statement, the 6th semester student of the Management Study Program expressed his pleasure to be able to take part in the first competition in the spring and this was a very extraordinary opportunity.
"I hope that the achievements I have achieved will be a good start and not make me arrogant, I hope this achievement can be maintained until the 2024 Asean Games in China and the gold medal target at the 2024 Paris Olympics," Adi explained Saturday (7/5/22 )
He also explained the preparations made so he could wipe out the speed number podium in the 2022 Rock Climbing World Cup series. According to him, preparations have been made since June 2020 for the national training center for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
"In the near future, please pray for me to take part in the international championship in Salt Lake City, America, on May 26," he said again.
He also shared tips on his achievements, namely always enthusiastic in practicing and always praying, asking for the blessing of his parents in every decision he made.
Junaidi Fery Efendi Head of the Alumni Student Affairs and Innovation Academic Bureau (BAKAI) really appreciates the achievements that have been achieved by the UM Surabaya athlete scholarship winner who has successfully competed at the world level.
"The IFSC World Cup Seoul 2022 event is a prestigious event this spring, Rahmad Adi Mulyanto managed to represent Indonesia and won a bronze medal in the speed number in the Rock Climbing World Cup series, this is an achievement that the university and Indonesia are very proud of," said Junaidi in a written statement. .
Junaidi added that the university would continue to support UM Surabaya athletes in national and international competitions. Junaidi hopes that this achievement will inspire other athletes to excel.
