Ma'had Umar Bin Al-Khattab Muhammadiyah University Surabaya (UM Surabaya) held the first graduation for 91 D2 Arabic language graduates and 17 Quran recitation graduates at the At-Tauhid Tower building floor 13 which was held offline and online on Saturday (22/1/ 22)
Also present at the graduation was the UM Surabaya Daily Board of Trustees (BPH), the Chancellor and his staff, Director of the Student Islamic Boarding School Development Institute, East Java Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders (PWM), Surabaya City Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders (PDM).
Mahsun Jayadi Director of the Student Islamic Boarding School Development Institute stated that going forward Ma'had Umar Bin Al-Khattab will continue to be committed to improving the quality of education at Ma'had.
"The projection of Ma'had Umar Bin Al-Khattab in the future will respond to the wishes of the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah East Java (PWM) to open a special class for training in producing quality Muhammadiyah scholars of tarjih, making the female tahfidz class the superior ma'had, because as long as There is no women's class of tahfidzul quran yet," said Mahsun when giving his speech.
Mahsun also hopes that Ma'had Umar will become a reference for professional management of Ma'had. In the future, Ma'had will open Islamic religious preaching and broadcasting study programs.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UM Surabaya, Sukadiono, congratulated the graduates who graduated today. He hopes that ma'had graduates will become graduates who are beneficial for the benefit of the people.
"Ma'had Umar Bin Al-Khattab not only educates, I really hope that ma'had will become a center for strengthening Al Islam and Muhammadiyah for all students within the Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya," said Suko.
Suko also explained that in the future the university would continue to be committed to improving facilities or others.
"This year we have proposed a flat, if approved we will use it to repair the Ma'had Umar building. UM Surabaya will continue to be committed to carrying out this mandate after being given the trust by the Muhammadiyah Central Executive.
At the end of his presentation Suko also hoped that this first graduation could become an annual routine agenda. He hopes that the graduates who graduate will be able to make a positive and useful contribution for the benefit of the people.
