East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa appointed 2,035 new students at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) at the opening of the Mastama, Ordik and UKM Expo (MOX) in the courtyard of the At-Tauhid Tower on Monday (26/9/22)
In her presentation, Khofifah invited thousands of students to think critically and solve crucial problems that are happening in the world today, including food crises, energy crises and financial crises.
In the middle of the presentation given by Khofifah, she invited new students to discuss by asking questions about how to overcome these three crises. Not only giving questions, Khofifah also gave away 3 laptops to new UM Surabaya students.
In her remarks, Khofifah emphasized that UM Surabaya as the best private university (PTS) in East Java will produce competent students and graduates who are ready to compete globally.
"Let's continue to have fastabiqul khoirot in every good way. Strengthen collaboration in all fields. New students must play a role and help strengthen programs in East Java and national strengthening programs," said Khofifah.
Meanwhile, Sukadiono in front of thousands of students explained that currently UM Surabaya is included as the 8th best tertiary institution in East Java and this will continue to be improved in the top 5 positions.
Suko hopes that new students are able to synergize all their potential to achieve academic achievement, become noble individuals with strong morals and character which will become the capital to take part, work and pursue a career in order to achieve goals and a proud future.
"I, as the head of the university, welcome new UM Surabaya students to the campus of a million innovations, let's prepare ourselves seriously and maturely to continue to be talented, achieve and innovate," concluded Suko.
