Haedar Nashir Re-Elected as Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Chancellor of UM Surabaya: He is an exemplary figure

Haedar Nashir was re-elected as General Chair of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive for the next five years 2022-2027 at the 48th Muktamar session on Sunday (20/11/22) in Solo, Central Java.

Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) Sukadiono said Professor Haedar was an exemplary figure, with many achievements and full of simplicity.

"In my eyes he is a role model, an example for all members of the association," said Suko after the congress.

Not only that, Suko said that Haedar's work while leading needed to be appreciated, even though being the highest leader in Muhammadiyah did not make him puffed up, he remained simple and humble.

"It is not an exaggeration if many call him an exemplary intellectual figure, it must be admitted that his works are numerous and he continues to be productive in writing books," he added.

In fact, Suko believes that Haedar's election for the next five years will bring Muhammadiyah to a more advanced, modern, professional position as an Islam that carries the mission of enlightenment.

"We pray that he will always be healthy and continue to be productive, together contributing to the people, the nation and the world," he said again.

Finally, Suko emphasized that the greatness of UM Surabaya to this day cannot be separated from his visionary advice, ideas, services and thoughts going forward.
