East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa had the opportunity to attend and give a speech at the opening of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Higher Education Council for Research and Development of Muhammadiyah Central Leadership hosted by Muhammadiyah University Surabaya, which was held at the JW Marriot Hotel Surabaya on Tuesday (2/5/ 23)
In front of hundreds of participants from Muhammadiyah/Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA) throughout Indonesia, Khofifah responded to the ideas conveyed by Prof. Bambang Setiaji as Chair of the Diktilitbang Council related to 5 AD HOC programs including: PTMA in hand, 5000 Doctors, 100,000 publications, Strengthening Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan and Strengthening PTMA.
In her remarks, Khofifah stated that the PP Muhammadiyah Diktilitbang Council's 5,000 doctoral program was an extraordinary program. He hopes that this program will be able to encourage the improvement of the quality of Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia.
Furthermore, Khofifah explained that Indonesia is currently experiencing problems in the field of Human Resources, this is marked by the 2022 Global Competition Talent Index where Indonesia is ranked 82nd, still below Thailand. Then, according to data released by the Global Innovation Index, Indonesia is still below Malaysia.
Through the connectivity or network owned by Muhammadiyah with a total of 171 universities (PT) owned and hundreds of professors, they will be able to provide breakthrough innovations and achieve joint success through collaboration.
"With that strength, I'm sure Muhammadiyah will be able to improve Indonesian human resources which will certainly have an impact on the Global Competition Talent Index and the Global Innovation Index," said Khofifah in front of hundreds of participants in the National Working Meeting.
Meanwhile, Bambang Setiaji as Chair of the Diktilitbang Council in his speech emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities. He hopes for healthy collaboration between large tertiary institutions and micro tertiary institutions for acceleration.
"From 171 tertiary institutions, how is this collaboration built in order to create a good tertiary institution," he said.
Bambang hopes that micro tertiary institutions can learn from universities that have excelled, while large tertiary institutions have the responsibility of caring for micro tertiary institutions.
"Let's synergize with each other in realizing excellent programs that encourage 5000 doctors, 100,000 publications in reputable scientific journals, strengthening and integrating Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan in various learning programs for PTMA," he concluded.
