Satria Unggul Wicaksana, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and vice-dean of UM Surabaya, won the most implementable presenter at the workshop event as a result of learning innovation funding assistance and assistive technology for students with special needs which was held by the Ministry of Education and Culture (19/12/21).
In front of 300 participants, the Satria delegation explained his ideas about the Development of Assistive Technology (Assistive Technology) Learning Innovations for Students with Special Needs at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya. Based on participant polls and reviewer considerations, Satria is one of the best presenters on innovative assistive technology and implementable program outcomes.
"I hope that in the future the development of a technology called the Smart Chair for Disability (Escade) will be much more accessible for students with physical disabilities, with the addition of IT features and approaches as well as more in-depth research so that existing products can be mass produced," said Satria in a written statement.
At the end of his statement Satria also added the importance of persons with disabilities having the same rights, especially the right to receive educational programs, so that the problems faced by students with disabilities in the form of limited adequate facilities can be resolved. Through the Escade innovation, he hopes to provide accessibility and mobility for students with disabilities at UM Surabaya.
