Momentum of the 78th Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Dharma Wanita unity LLDIKTI Region VII cooperates with the Gender Studies Institute at the Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (UM Surabaya) in holding a seminar with the theme "Smart and Empowered Women in Building Family Resilience for Advanced Indonesia" which was held at the LLDIKTI office Building C Nadjadi Anwar Room on Thursday (16/8/23)
Also attending the event was Prof. Dr. Dyah Sawitri as Head of LLDikti Region VII, Vice Chancellor 1 UM Surabaya Dr. M. Ridlwan who also gave a speech. Some of the presenters include: Muridah Isnawati (UM Surabaya) who delivered material Politicization and Exploitation of Children. Lucina S. Almilla (UHW Perbanas) with material on Women and Family Economic Resilience. Yoppi Yeremia Alexander (Indonesian Cancer Institute) material on Recognizing, Preventing and Overcoming Cervical and Breast Cancer. Dr. Jokhanan Kristiyono (Stikosa Aws) with the theme The Importance of Digital Literacy for Parents and Children in Facing the Era of Society 5.0.
Head of UM Surabaya Institute for Gender Studies Dr. Mas'ulah explained that this activity aims to examine in depth about strengthening and empowering women in their role as the anchor of family resilience which is studied through various perspectives, namely education, economy, health and socio-culture.
"From this seminar, it is hoped that the community will be able to broaden their views and hear from competent parties about the practical and strategic value of women's roles in micro (family) and macro (country) contexts from various points of view to get a comprehensive picture through the presentations of the speakers," he said.
He also hopes that this seminar will be useful for academics, practitioners and the general public so that they can exchange ideas to jointly formulate efforts and policies to strengthen and empower women in the LLDIKTI 7 environment in particular and society in general.
Furthermore, he explained that this activity was attended by hundreds of participants from various private universities in East Java and various elements of society.
"Starting from students, researchers and lecturers in tertiary institutions, NGOs who are observers and activists on gender issues, women's empowerment and child protection and the general public," he concluded.
