The inauguration of new students at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UMSurabaya) for 2021-2022 was carried out with various creative events.
"This year we inaugurated new students with various agendas. Apart from speeches by national figures, we also presented a collective action of writing a digital letter for the president and introducing corners of the campus through the Squid Game film," said Agus Budiman as chief executive in a written statement (4 /10/2021).
During the inauguration, new students will send digital letters to the President. 2,058 new students sent digital letters that were created through the system and then posted on their respective social media. This was done as hope and optimism for Indonesia to progress.
Apart from that, new students will also watch important campus angles through film media. A film inspired by a film that is currently popular, namely Squid Game.
"The film tells about new students who have to fight to get to the inauguration of new students. It is said that hundreds of new students receive strange invitations to compete in children's games, and there are only two students who are persistent and able to finish it," said Agus Budiman.
It was also explained that the production of the film used strict health protocols. The players must ensure that they have received the vaccine twice and undergo swabs before production. The briefing session must also be full using a mask and keeping your distance.
