Tapak Suci athletes from UM Surabaya managed to win in various categories at the Airlangga Championship Tapak Suci International Virtual Open 2021 which was held online from 8-12 November 2021. UM Surabaya athletes won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze on Monday (6/12/21)
The four delegates sent won first, second and third place in various categories. The list of winners is Fitri Nuraida Rizayasari (English Education) who won 1st place in the women's singles. Eni Widiyawati and Intan Damayanti Sutanto (Management) won 2nd place in the empty-handed doubles and Fathur Rozi Farori won 3rd place in the men's armed singles.
Fitri Nuraida, a gold medalist, said that preparations for this competition had been prepared from the start. Counting they prepared for three weeks to practice before jumping into the race.
"The hard work we put in has produced maximum results. Hopefully this achievement doesn't stop here. It is hoped that the athletes from Tapak Suci UM Surabaya will always make achievements on the national and international levels and can make the university proud," said Fitri in a tearful voice.
Fitri, a seventh semester student, added that the excellence of Tapak Suci athletes at UM Surabaya has a strong technical base. Supported by coaches who master various moves and techniques. This capital allows athletes to adapt and compete well. Fitri also said that in the near future the UM Surabaya team from Tapak Suci was preparing for the Bandung Lautan Api International Championship 3.
Junaidy Fery Effendi Head of Student Affairs and Innovation Bureau (BAKAI) appreciated the achievements of UM Surabaya's Tapak Suci athletes.
"Airlangga Championship Tapak Suci International Virtual Open 2021 is a prestigious event that occurs every year. Tapak Suci athletes from UM Surabaya won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. This is a matter of pride for the university. Hopefully this achievement will be a whip for other athletes to continue to excel," said Junaidy.
