UM Surabaya's Tapak Suci Athlete Wins Overall Champion in the Jabar International Championship

Tapak Suci (TS) athlete at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) won medals in the West Java International Championship 2022. The event was organized by the Harimau Muda Event Organizer at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Jatinangor GOR, Friday-Sunday (2-4 /9/2022).

In this championship, Tapak Suci UM Surabaya athletes won 7 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze out of a total of 19 fighters who competed. A total of 18 medals were bought up by UM Surabaya athletes.

Deputy Chancellor III of Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya Ma'ruf Sya'ban accompanied by Junaidi Fery Efendi Head of BAKAI UM Surabaya and Muhammad Nasir Pembina Tapak Suci UM Surabaya symbolically released the athletes at the At-Tauhid Tower Building lt12 on 1 September.

During the release, Ma'ruf Sya'ban delivered a message.

"I have high hopes for all athletes. Hopefully, by releasing the athletes, they can buy up medals and be able to make the name of the university proud," said Ma'ruf Sya'ban at the release of athletes (1/09/22).

At that time, he also advised to play the losers, don't think about anything when competing.

"The most important thing is health and worship also always accompany every action," he said.

Apart from that, UM Surabaya's Tapak Suci athletes are also preparing for the upcoming championships, such as the 2022 Airlangga Championship. They are also preparing to take part in national and international championships.
