The team from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) made another proud achievement by winning a gold medal at the 1 Idea 1 world innovation event organized by the Turkish Inventors Association (TUMMIAD) and the World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA) located at the BilgiyiTicarile?tirmeMerkezi Building, Istanbul, Turkey.
By considering Aikko an application to prevent stunting, the Surabaya UM FK team Damara Oky C, Insira Yumna, Indah Kamula, and Faishal Fahmi managed to give their best and compete with other students from 22 countries on May 16-17.
In a written statement, Gina Noor Djalilah, an accompanying lecturer at the UM Surabaya FK team, explained that Aikko was an application created with the aim of reducing stunting rates for high-risk target groups.
“Aikko will really help pregnant women, nursing mothers and mothers with toddlers. Aikko will help all mothers by providing information related to child growth and development after someone fills out the form provided in this application," explained Gina who is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and a Pediatrician, Wednesday (25/5/22)
On this occasion, Gina also had the opportunity and was selected to be a speaker panelist representing Indonesia with future innovation challenges with supervisors from Africa, Turkey and Iran.
He hopes that in the future research and innovation activities will continue to develop and be sustainable as a manifestation of research and service by both lecturers and students.
Meanwhile, three UM Surabaya vice-chancellors, Ma'ruf Sya'ban, who is in charge of innovation and human resources, appreciated the achievements made by the Surabaya UM FK team. According to him, to be able to get a gold medal and compete with 22 countries is not an easy thing. But in fact the UM Surabaya FK team succeeded in making UM Surabaya proud on the world stage.
"I hope that what the UM Surabaya FK team has done will be a spark of enthusiasm for students or lecturers to continue to innovate, work to introduce UM Surabaya to the world," he concluded.
