Eight UM Surabaya students successfully passed and were funded by the 2021 Indonesian Innovation Talent Program. Of the 4,116 applicants, UM Surabaya students successfully passed and were funded after entering the substance selection stage.
The eight students who passed the Indonesian Innovation Talent Program were: Berliana Indah Shafa Putri (Nursing Science), Amalia Yuliawati (Nursing Science) Silviana Darmayanti (Nursing Science), Sela Rizqiyah (Biology Education), Dharul Jannah (Mathematics Education), Indah Rosidah (Education Mathematics), Maila Rosidatus Sayyidah (Mathematics Education), and Nurusy Syahrotur Rohmah (Mathematics Education)
"We are grateful that 8 teams of the Innovation Talent Program passed this year and were funded by the Ministry of Research and Technology, this is a good start for students. Hopefully the innovation and creativity program initiated by UM Surabaya students can realize innovation and creativity and support the development of science and technology that is beneficial to society," said Head of the Student Affairs and Innovation Administration Bureau (BAKAI) Junaidy Fery Efendi, when contacted Thursday (25/11/21)
The Indonesian Innovation Talents Program is a funding program in the form of incentives given to students who are currently actively studying in Bachelor, Masters or Doctoral programs, both in the academic and applied fields. This program is in the context of helping finance and realizing innovation and increasing the nation's competitiveness, developing the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) and accelerating the completion of the study period.
"This is the first year, then we will prepare as many UM Surabaya teams as possible and as well as possible so that there will be more graduates of the Innovation Talent Program next year," added Junaidy.
Nurusy, one of the participants who passed the Innovation Talent Program, hopes that this competition will be a good start for further achievements.
"I am very happy and grateful to have passed to this stage. I was also surprised when I read the announcement. Alhamdulillah, I was given the opportunity to qualify. Hopefully this achievement will further motivate me to continue to excel and not stop here," he said.
Meanwhile Berliana Indah was also touched when she read the official announcement made today.
"This is the first time I have passed this program, I did not expect that my research entitled Spray nanoparticles from ketapang leaf extract (Terminalia Catappa) as an antiseptic for burns can pass and be funded. Hopefully the research that I wrote can be a major contribution in the world of research and science, "he said
