Six superior innovations from UM Surabaya were present at the Muhammadiyah Innovation Technology Expo (MITE) which was held simultaneously with the 48th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah, on Thursday-Monday, 17-21 November 2022 at a historical tourist attraction, De Colomadoe, Karanganyar, Central Java.
Muhammadiyah Innovation Technology Expo (MITE) is an event to showcase the results of technological innovation products from Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Universities as well as Muhammadiyah SMA/SMK throughout Indonesia.
6 superior innovation exhibitions at UM Surabaya including; Smart Wireless Stethocope (SWIPE), Magic Thermo Band Seizure Screening (MATOASS), Blustoper 2.0, Aikko Prevents Stunting, Automatic Reborn Shrimp Drying Machine, Tool for Processing Plastic Waste into Liquid Fuel with the Pyrolysis Process.
It is known that the Smart Wireless Stethoscope (SWIPE) is an innovative product of technology-based learning media that can listen to and interpret heart and lung sounds together, so as to minimize differences in perception. This innovative tool made by FK students won a prestigious award at the 2019 Wintex event by winning a gold medal and the only Indonesian participant to receive the 2019 International Feederation of Invertor's Association (IFI) special award.
The second innovation is the Magic Thermo Band Seizure Screening (MATOASS). Matoass is a simple tool for checking temperature with jitteriness detection which can be used by babies and toddlers. This tool consists of Arduino ESP8266 material, mlx90614 temperature sensor, Sw100 vibration sensor, Wemos d1 mini wifi module, 1.3 inch oled lcd, and buzzer. This tool is equipped with a buzzer sound sensor which will activate when there is an increase in temperature above normal and there is vibration above 1000Hz.
The third innovation tool is Blustoper 2.0. Blustoper is the latest innovation in the field of medical rehabilitation therapy. The working principle of this tool can help motor movements of paralyzed hands and stimulate muscles and nerves by making automatic hand opening and closing movements. This Blustoper can measure vital signs (such as pulse and temperature).
The fourth innovation is Aikko Prevent Stunting. This tool is an application created with the aim of reducing stunting rates for high-risk target groups. The Aikko application will help all mothers by providing information regarding the growth and development of their children.
The fifth is the Automatic Reborn Shrimp Drying Machine. This tool will help the drying process in a closed room so as to prevent the product from insects so that the shrimp remain hygienic and well maintained.
The last is a tool for processing plastic waste into liquid fuel with a pyrolysis process. This tool was created with the aim of creating renewable fuels as alternative energy, reducing plastic waste that is difficult to decompose, providing alternatives for handling environmental problems caused by plastic waste and providing useful information for the public that plastic waste can be processed into fuel oil that has value-added.
Meanwhile, Radius Setiyawan, Head of the Information Institute for New Student Admissions (LIPMB), said that the UM Surabaya student innovation exhibition at the MITE event was a work of technological innovation that benefited the nation in many fields, ranging from health, education, agriculture, and industry.
"Hopefully the innovations on display will become a concrete contribution of UM Surabaya to Muhammadiyah and the country which is not only watched but can also be utilized," said Radius Thursday (11/17/22)
Radius said that all of the UM Surabaya innovation exhibitions that were exhibited were products of student innovations that had won prestigious championships from within the country and abroad.
The six are products resulting from technological innovation that have elements of novelty, are marketable and have great benefits," Radius concluded.
