This is the UM Surabaya Lecturer's Response to the Multiple Personalities of the Red Kebaya Actor

AH, who plays the red kebaya in the exciting video that is currently going viral, is suspected of having bipolar disorder. Even so, the police did not want to speculate and preferred to observe the suspects. The police said that AH had multiple personalities.

Highlighting this, Lecturer in Psychiatric Nursing at Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (UM Surabaya) Uswatun Hasanah said, people who have multiple personalities can be said to be suffering from psychiatric disorders based on the Diagnostic And Statistical Manual For Mental Disorder -5 (DSM - 5).

Uswatun said, mental disorders themselves have a number of causes. Among them are due to biological factors, such as the abuse of addictive substances, and could be due to having experienced head trauma during their lifetime.

“There is a psychological factor, he has experienced trauma or a traumatic experience in the past. There is neglect by the surrounding environment and growth and development factors that are not achieved," said Uswatun, Saturday (12/11/2022).

Apart from that, Uswatun also said that economic problems where it can cause difficulties in meeting daily needs can also be a background for people experiencing mental disorders.

“To establish a diagnosis of mental disorders, we need to carry out several in-depth examinations related to the causative factors, both biologically, then psychologically, and also socially. Apart from that, we need to see how cognitive, behavioral, and mental-emotional responses are still functioning properly or there are deviations," he added.

So, do people with mental disorders still have sexual urges?

Uswatun explained that people with psychiatric disorders still have a sexual drive, although there will be changes that occur due to the influence of the symptoms of the disease and also the treatment process they are undergoing.

"If we talk about sexual urges in individuals with mental disorders, if they say they don't have them at all, not really," he explained.

According to him, when an individual has a mental disorder and is undergoing treatment, it is the drugs that have their own impact. One of them can reduce sex drive.

"Such as his sexual desire decreases and then when certain symptoms appear, this can also affect the increase or decrease of his sexual desire," concluded Uswatun.
