Mudik is an activity that is eagerly awaited by all Muslims from all walks of life, including pregnant women. Homecoming is a journey that requires long distances and time, so special preparations are needed for pregnant women for safety and comfort during homecoming.

First, according to Ainiyah, is paying attention to gestational age. The safe gestational age for going home for pregnant women is the 2nd trimester (more than 12 weeks) and less than 34 weeks.
"In the first trimester, the condition of pregnancy is still at risk and followed by discomfort for pregnant women such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, while in the last trimester there is a risk of contractions which can risk premature rupture of membranes and premature rupture of membranes," said Ainiyah Sunday (16/4/23)
Second, check the health condition of the doctor or midwife to ensure that the health of the mother and fetus is safe for long trips and always carry the MCH book.
Third, use safe and comfortable means of transportation, make sure mileage, travel access, and travel routes do not endanger the condition of pregnant women.
“Fourth, avoid carrying heavy items. Pregnant women are also advised to wear loose clothing and shoes that are safe and comfortable," he added.
Fifth, get to know the location of the rest area, if it's long distance, try to take a break every 4 hours, do stretching to relax and avoid swelling.
Sixth, bring personal equipment such as healthy food, sufficient drinks, quota or pulses for communication, extra budget, personal medicines, and personal hygiene equipment.
Furthermore, Ainiyah said that someone who is pregnant when going home must be accompanied by their family. Pregnant women should always be under family supervision during the trip. This is to anticipate things that are not desirable.
"If there are complaints or family emergencies, it will be very helpful in accessing the nearest health facility," he said.
According to him, it is important for pregnant women to get enough rest before the trip.
"Finally, don't push yourself. If there is a risk of health problems and pregnancy, it is best not to travel back and forth first," concluded Ainiyah.
