To be a good teacher, you have to know how to teach in a fun and enjoyable way, especially being an elementary school (SD) teacher for the lower grades. Elementary school children tend to be easily bored, always want to play, so the teacher must have an interesting learning method so that learning in the classroom is well-conditioned.

However, according to the psychological theory of cognitive development of students from Jean Piaget, elementary school children enter the concrete operational stage (7-11 years), at which time children can be invited to study in groups, given motivation, and invited to think systematically.

Holy Ichda Wahyuni UM Surabaya Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Lecturer said, in teaching or educating elementary school children the first thing that is important to do is to build interaction and emotional closeness, both between students and teachers and students with students.

According to him, teachers also apply more fun learning with the method of games, quizzes, guessing, and learning by doing (learning while doing), so elementary school students don't just sit listening which will trigger boredom, instead they can actively participate in class.

"Some parts of the material can also be done outside the classroom, so that elementary school students feel the nuances of learning that are not continuous in the room," said Holy Friday (12/30/22)

He said, the rapid development of digital technology can also be an opportunity for teachers to try various digital-based interactive media which will provide new experiences for their learning.

"Of course, apart from being fun, the learning bonus model will make the material more easily absorbed and learning objectives can be achieved," concluded Holy.
