Fasting for Ramadan 1444H is just counting the days, the month that Muslims around the world are waiting for as a month full of forgiveness and many opportunities to get rewards that can be multiplied only in the month of Ramadan.
To achieve rewards during the month of Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to increase their practice. Then what do Muslims need to prepare to prepare for the start of the month of Ramadan.
Lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI) Muhammadiyah University (UM) Surabaya, M Febriyanto Firman Wijaya shared some tips that need to be prepared during the first day of fasting in the month of Ramadan:
According to Riyan, the first thing that must be prepared is to establish the intention of fasting. The month of Ramadan is a month full of favors and blessings, therefore it is necessary to establish the intention to carry out fasting sincerely, because fasting is a form of worship that is obligatory. "A month full of blessings has come to you, it is obligatory for you to fast..." (HR. Ahmad)
Second, set sleep patterns. Even though it will change habits in the previous months, make sure someone has enough sleep during Ramadan, at least 8 hours of sleep at night will help the body regulate hormones which will make it easier to fast.
“Take time to take a nap, this is one of the things that helps in maintaining self-stability in the midst of busy work during fasting. Therefore, having a good sleep pattern will help you wake up on time for sahur," said Riyan Tuesday (21/3/23)
Third, control the time and food menu. To be able to survive the first day of fasting one of them also controls eating the previous day, reducing fast food or processed food, because the energy in it is only there for a short time, the impact is that a person will quickly feel sluggish.
“For drinks, stay away from caffeine, soda and tea. Because from the contents of the drink, the body will easily become dehydrated, "added Riyan again.
Fourth, multiply foods and drinks that are highly nutritious and contain sufficient good substances, one of the good foods recommended by the Prophet Muhammad is dates. This is like the hadith narrated by Abu Dawud "The Prophet shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam used to break his fast before prayer with ruthab (wet dates), if there was no ruthab, then he would break his fast with tamr (dried dates). (Reported by Abu Dawud).
Fifth, schedule daily activities. One of the best and proper ways to get through fasting is to keep yourself busy by diverting your attention and mind from hunger. Diverting attention can be done by doing scheduled light activities other than mandatory work.
"For example, following religious studies on Youtube, staying in touch with friends, and other activities," he said.
Finally, multiply the practice of sunnah. The month of Ramadan is a month full of wisdom and rewards.
So prepare yourself to increase the practice of sunnah, such as increasing the recitation, giving alms, praying more, reducing harsh words and routinely qiyamul Ramadan.
