Oily skin not only interferes with appearance, but can also be a cause of acne, blackheads, and clogged pores.

But now there are many facial skin care products that are claimed to provide maximum results such as reducing oily skin problems.

UM Surabaya Faculty of Medicine (FK) Lecturer Neny Triastuti shared 5 tips for dealing with oily skin problems naturally.

According to Neny, the first way to do this is to clean your face twice a day. This can reduce excess oil on the skin while cleaning facial skin.

"Use warm water when washing your face at home, and do this in the morning and at night before going to bed," explained Neny Friday (26/8/22).

Both use skincare regularly. According to him, to prevent the face from excess oil, it is necessary to routinely use skincare at home. One of them is using an alcohol-free toner that can reduce oil, while moisturizing the skin.

In addition, cleaning your face with a toner can remove dead skin, dirt, and also shrink pore problems. Do this by gently rubbing it on your facial skin.

“After that, continue to wear natural masks. One can use ingredients like honey, oatmeal, multani mitti, and also tomatoes. Masks with natural ingredients can control sebum levels in the face. Don't forget to use a facial moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated, as well as a day cream to protect your skin from the sun," said Neny who is also a beauty doctor.

Third, set a healthy diet and avoid fatty foods. One can avoid spicy, sweet, and fried foods, because these foods can increase oil production in the skin.

“Temporarily avoid these foods by consuming healthy foods such as milk, vegetables and adequate vitamins. Also balance it by consuming fruits, nuts, meat, and eggs," he added.

Fourth, increase the consumption of water. Consuming mineral water can keep the skin hydrated while at the same time helping to prevent excess sebum and oil production. A person can consume as much as 7 to 8 glasses during a day.

Last use light makeup. Use light makeup when leaving the house.

"No need to overdo it, because using a lot of makeup can clog facial pores, produce oil, causing pimples and blackheads," concluded Neny.
